Camp Summit is a remarkable place for remarkable people and is near and dear to Cissi’s family. Our own dear cousin Kathy (pictured above) has been attending Camp Summit for 35 years. In the past we have supported the fundraising efforts of Camp Summit by participating in the annual golf tournament and attending the signature ‘Boots and Bandanas’ event. Now, through the Cissi Scott Foundation we plan to provide continuous support for years to come.
Camp Summit’s program goal is to provide a fun camping experience for campers with disabilities, regardless of their age, the severity of their disability, or their ability to pay. In addition to the camp being physically barrier-free, they design programs to be adapted for every possible need. They also offer an open registration process, financial assistance, and provide medical care, so even the most medically fragile camper can attend safely. By anticipating and removing all barriers, they are able to focus on the campers’ abilities rather than their disabilities.
